Hot Tub New Years
While my good friends Karion and KarenUhOh are dispensing useful legal and pharmacological advice, I’m going to take the high road and quote the great philosopher Viv Savage, who said simply, “have a good time… all the time.”
At the moment, I’m in laundryland, but later tonight I’ll be soaking my cares away at my fave East Van house party (complete with blender...

Merry Christmas
Drinking wine with friends, nursing a food coma (and rather pleased with the gravy & mashed potatoes I contributed) and listening to Vince Guaraldi.
Hope everyone in my strange and far-flung little Tumblr family is having a reasonable facsimile. Be warm, be together, and be happy.
Thanks to all for the friendship, follows and reblogs this year.

Hope everyone’s having a christacular season full of chanukery and kwanzulence. A FOOT of snow has fallen here in candy-ass Vancouver and it’s pretty magical. But I’m still doing the internets via sewing machine, so no pictures from me and my Pfaff for the time being. I gotta say, while frustrating on some ends, it’s pretty relaxing being away from Facebook and the Tumblr...

Shaq says it all →
Stay warm, Shaq and fellow tumblrs. Hope you’re all having as much offline fun as I am. Vancouver has an uncharacteristic 3 inches or so of snow, and I love walking around in it! Tonight I put up my Mexican pressed tin nativity scene (photos to follow), which is about as much effort as opening a pop-up book, but is adorably seasonal. Plans are shaping up for the holidays but it’s times...
Don't Cry for Me, Blogentina
Greetings from (as Krucoff put it) the Internet of 8 years ago! Now who’s emerging from mists?!? [Ideally this joke would have included linkage and photos, but I’m posting via email in an already diminished capacity - both computer and self - so you get what you get from Lil’ Y2Keezy at the moment.] It’s like this post is a hastily cobbled together remake of Dynasty and my...
Start, crash, start, LOAD! crash, start, crash,...
… hate, rage, sulk… BONG! I can probably live without my Tumblr dashboard, but this lack of GChat is killing me. AIM anyone?
All of a sudden, my fried laptop is showing small but encouraging signs of life. There was one successful boot that got all the way to my usual desktop, so I’d say chances are there’s still data that can be recovered. With any luck, Miracle Max will do his thing overnight and we can reassess in the morning.
UPDATE: I’ve now got email, Twitter and AIM working on this old computer, but GChat, Facebook and my Tumblr dashboard are still not happening.
Beyond the graaave
So I’ve managed to borrow an old G3 (running OS 9.2) from my kindly neighbs, and I’m doing my best surfing with IE5, albeit getting a mild rash from what I guess would be the nerd equivalent of low thread count. Tumblr dashboard won’t load, so I’m posting this via Gmail, which I’ve finally managed to get loaded in basic HTML version, and though Twitter is working, I...
Change of plans, Santa
I’m going to be tumbling very infrequently until I get my laptop replaced (loaner may be available today), but as far as crises go, I am very lucky to have a caterer for a neighbour, and while I have been catching up on his computer, he’s cooked a bacony brunch that is going to kick ass. I even brought over some Hungarian sparkling wine I had in my fridge, so as far as suckass outcomes...
I blame soup!
Not the tumblr, the food product…
I had a little spillage on ye olde keyb last night, which was about as alarming as you might imagine as I packed to come home. I’m letting it dry for a bit and will be offline until I can ascertain whether or not I did major damage to my computer. Let us pray, people. I’ll try and tumble from my phone if I can, but if I don’t talk to you...

is really as good as it sounds. As were the mushrooms stuffed with pork and pancetta. As was the goat cheese cheesecake… so good I’m going to go eat the leftovers for breakfast.

The Tumblr Awards →
tylercoates:
I certainly didn’t expect to be the only one handing out “awards” for tumblin’, but I’m glad that someone will be doing so on a blog actually supported by the Tumblr platform.
In other news: my new personal goal is to “win” an “award”. I hope I have your support. (Also, would anyone who is talented with Photoshop like to make a For Your Consideration: Tyler Coates ad for me? I will...

lowlife:
A bit about me. I was born in 1980 - which meant that I was too busy wearing diapers and eating Gerber to go buy Sandinista the day it came out or travel to CBGBs for Bad Brains/Beastie Boys gigs. However, I did catch The Fall in 2002 and it was one of the best live shows I ever saw. Their singer, Mark E. Smith, was on crutches and sitting in a chair - but managed to captivate the entire...
