Eric Hamber was the Lieutenant Governor of BC (1936-1941), Chancellor of UBC (1944-1951), and recipient of the Order of St Michael and St George. In his spare time he enjoyed playing harem, hunting, and skinny dipping.

Here’s what the house looks like today. It’s about 5 minutes from me, in the Shaughnessy neighbourhood, which today is the “old money” area full mansions, which back in the day were mostly built by nouveau riche local liquor barons during Prohibition.
