Last night I saw an “R.I.P. Montreal Burger” on a chalkboard special menu.
People think it’s an East vs West thing out here in Vancouver, but not only are there a lot of Montrealers who’ve migrated here along with the rest of the sun seekers (and I swear, as I type this the clouds are parting here at my cousin’s in the suburbs), but a lot of our dads and grandpas are old-tyme Habs fans. I also know some excellent people from here living there and I’ve always wanted to spend some quality time exploring the old city. (This place*? Have you met me?) Pretty much every Canuck fan I asked said they would have loved to see us taking on Montreal in the final. “Buy a Hab fan a drink” was a thing the other day in one of the pubs I frequent.
It’s the Leafs nobody can stand. ;-)
