Our loyal Vista Cruiser!
That old warhorse hauled us back and forth from Alberta to BC umpteen million times throughout my youth. My fave was when dad let us put a sleeping bag in the back and I had a pre-Walkman-style academic cassette recorder with a randomly acquired tape of the Police’s Ghost In The Machine, heard through a single-ear headphone, as I recall… my only respite from Pop’s oft-ridiculed fondness for the music of Jim Neighbours and the Hootenanny cassette he subjected my brother & me to if we were misbehaving.
This photo also features a bonus denim wrap skirt+hot rack-in-a-t-shirt combo on my mom, and me in the outfit I wore to school picture day that year.
Also, nice outfit, Dad.
