Can’t believe my birthday went by and I didn’t ask for one of these!
For the record, I do accept gifts for a full 6 months after my birthday (which, conveniently, gives you guys until Christmas Eve). ;-)
I don’t know what number that shooter in front of me was, but by the look on my face (and my friend Lorren’s), it was probably the eleventeenthesthshthhh.
All the sincere birthday wishes were totally appreciated! My Tumblr family is amazing.
I did everything I planned to do last night except the karaoke - mostly because I had all of the earth’s drinks and crashed by 1AM - and if I can rally (spoiler alert: I probably can) another friend is birthdaying tonight and has suggested we have a dance party / lock-in at the restaurant she runs.
My dad (whom I will meet for lunch in a few minutes), stepmom and their dog Tala made me a birthday card when they were in Tofino earlier this month. Cute!
That part where it’s THE BEST FUCKING DAY OF YOUR LIFE BECAUSE THIS JUST HAPPENED.
Mindy and I are birthday twins (and sisters-in-gluten intolerance) and I’ve been tweeting at her on our birthday for the last 3 or 4 years… and BLAMMO, now I am DEAD. FROM THE AWESOMENESS.
Is how even INTERNET boyfriends go all Chilean Miner on your ass.
Whatever, dudes! I’ll just be over here, continuing with my awesomeness.
Because it is!
Time to start planning those elaborate animated GIF tributes and single-serving websites!
And as usual, I have prepared nothing… least of all, my husk of a liver.
(*Internet Boyfriends, you’ve been warned.)
Baby’s First Birthday Bunting! Assembled by Auntie Hez, from a concept and materials acquired by my cousin. The medallion in the centre at the bottom says “Happy Birthday Jackson” in Seussfont. I’m pretty in love with it, and although it took a little time, those little discs twirl adorably in the wind and I think some of this will be hung outside on the gazebo, so they will reach maximum adorbs levels on the day. I’m not going to publish any other pics of the prep until after the party on Sunday, but it’s already candy central up in here. Tonight she’s baking the rest of the multilayer birthday cake, and we’re testing out some different fillings with this Martha recipe for traditional French macaroons made with almond flour. Should be a delicious evening.
While I work on the papercrafts, my cousin Krista is in the kitchen making peppermint patties. Click here for the recipe.
