Tumblr founder David Karp’s abrupt farewell to his Storyboard team earlier this month was so disingenuous, so thick with noxious doublespeak, that it hardly seemed real. That’s because it wasn’t: Storyboard’s ousted leader ghost-wrote the news of his own firing because Karp wouldn’t (or couldn’t) do it. What’s sweeter than making a fool of your boss on the way out?
There’s the old Chris Mohney I know & love.
Attaboy.

I sure find myself the best Spinstertine’s Day cards. It’s like I just GET me.

“Love, Actually” is my “Breaking Bad,” in that I’ve avoided seeing it because everybody loves it… and it’ll probably make me crave meth.

Well, here’s the deal, anon. The Salvation Army is an evangelical Christian group, and they impose those beliefs on the people that they employ and the communities they serve. Here are a few examples:
They are so opposed to LGBT rights that they have lobbied multiple times for exemptions from Federal and Local anti-discrimination laws, and threatened to withdraw their services.
They refused to provide shelter to a homeless gay couple, unless they broke up and renounced their homosexuality.
They refused to provide a transgender woman with shelter that was congruent with her gender presentation, instead insisting she house with men. She chose instead to sleep on the sidewalk and died from the cold.
Speaking of gender, there was also this charming incident where one of their hostels refused to open the door for a 17-year-old victim who had just been brutally raped (or even call the police for her) because that particular hostel had a strict “men only” policy.
Children who can’t prove their immigration status are turned away.
The organization also disposes of any Harry Potter or Twilight related donations (rather than giving them to other charities), because they claim the toys are “incompatible with the charity’s Christian beliefs”.
During the Bush Administration (thanks to ‘faith-based initiatives’) they fired about 20 long-time employees (Jewish, Muslim, Hindu and Gay), simply for refusing to sign the organization’s statement of Christian belief.
So, that—in a nutshell—is what’s wrong with it.
Winter is coming… and so are their buckets. Remember this when they’re bothering you for change.
Consider that there are a number of worthy, non-denominational organizations all over the country that serve people without regard to their race, sex, gender, sexual orientation, or anything else that rational people don’t care about. Those places deserve your money and your support.
Signal boost, because “no more of my ‘metal’ goes into intolerant kettles.”
I resist refreshing as long as humanly possible.
I wonder if selectively blocking each of the advertisers will keep them from showing on my dash…
I guess we’ll find out!
This is a repost:
I’m not sure if this has already been brought to everyone’s attention or not, but here is the deal:

Above is a video of a 68-year-old bus monitor named Karen Klein being verbally harassed by a group of middle schoolers on their way home from Athena Middle School in Greece, New York. Throughout the ten minute video, you can hear the kids verbally berate the woman, calling her a bitch, fatass, poor, ugly, and various other words of the like. At one point in the video, you can hear one of the kids yell, “You’re so fuckin poor you fat ass,” in which Karen responds, “I try to live by some of these words, I try and it’s really hard,” referring to the words on her purse. Now, I don’t know about you, but that broke my fucking heart. There’s even a point in the video where one of the kids touches Karen’s arm in an attempt to make fun of her. I’m not sure why these kids would want to bully a senior citizen to tears, but I feel we should do something, or at least try.
She doesn’t earn nearly enough ($15,506) to deal with some of the trash she is surrounded by. Lets give her something she will never forget, a vacation of a lifetime!

What a fucking disgrace. I couldn’t even make it past the 25 second mark of that appalling video. Signal boost, because Karen Klein deserves a little internet - and real world - justice.
None of us in Canada wanted to listen to music people post on your service, anyway.
Just continue your awesomely US-centric “upgrades” and let the rest of the non-Spotify compliant world fuck itself!
THAT’LL SHOW US!

Orangutans with ‘tude
OMG
Why the hell is there no streaming link or torrent for the latest episode of Work Of Art?
I’m going to beat someone’s ass. I dearly wish it could be the cockfuckdickassprickshitturd who invented geoblocking for internet TV shows.
GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER, INTERNET. THERE’S A NEW EPISODE OF DOWNTON ABBEY LATER TODAY AND ALSO THE RETURN OF MISFITS. THIS WILL NOT DO.
I’m just going to go out on a limb and say that people who are too chicken to say “fuck” on the internet are also probably keeping a light cardigan in the bottom drawer in case it gets chilly.
I’m going to personally go cockpunch Sergei & Larry.
Just started using it. Not sure how I feel about this.
My 2nd round invite came through just as they were deciding it was “over capacity” (although I’m pretty sure people who got theirs minutes before me got in), but what really amazes me about this whole beta invite thing is that AFTER 29 YEARS OF USING THE INTERNET [not a typo] somebody/something (in this case, G+) can still make me feel like I’m not nerdy enough.
Yup, I’m THAT awesome.
(Srsly? COME AT ME, CREDIT-STRIPPING LADYBRO! You’re the one full of WRONG.)
