RAINBOW NAILS
Thanks to Feanne for the request that inspired this first attempt at striped nail art. It wasn’t easy looking for the perfect ROYGBIV to go together, but super fun!

I would like to do this to my nails, but then I would like someone to paint a unicorn and/or a pot leaf over each one.

Agreed!

WE. FUCKING. DID. IT.

We beat the Blackhawks in overtime. That sentence barely encapsulates a cunthair of the jubilation that’s being felt in this city tonight.

So incredibly emosh right now. Best Game 7 (and most would agree, the best game in the 40 yr Canucks franchise) in as long as I can remember. When Burrows scored the game winner in OT, the entire Cambie Pub (packed like it hadn’t been since Olympic hockey) erupted in 30 straight minutes of mass euphoria, just like the moment Canada won Olympic hockey gold. (A lot of folks said this particular grudge match was almost like “City Olympics”). There’s a reason I keep saying it’s our year. It’s because it IS.

And everyone in Vancouver (including the team) knows it’s just going to get better. Never been more proud to be a Vancouverite.

And in case I forget to say this tomorrow, fuck you, Vince Vaughn.

HOW’S OUR ASS TASTE, BEANIE?

Mariah Carey wearing the original Anna Kosturova Beach Goddess crochet bikini. Love!

This was the picture that started it all. A little more than 5 years later, and my girl Anna now has some of the most beautiful bodies on earth wearing her designs, including Marissa Miller on the cover of the 2008 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue. Click the pic to purchase the hottest fucking bikini on the planet, now in a dazzling range of colours. You bet your sweet tits I have one (several, actually).

Just caught the first official Vancouver show of my friend Mike’s movie Daydream Nation (my 3rd viewing) and paid my own money for the first time! Couldn’t be more proud of what he (and his team) managed to achieve through no small effort.
So basically, if we dated in college and we’re still friends now, this is the kind of unwavering support you can expect for your first feature. Especially if it’s good.

That’s my pal JP Carter with the trumpet there next to Jimmy Fallon, playing his show with Destroyer tonight! Vancouver represent!
I met JP (probably at the Sugar Refinery) during my Terminal City days, I last saw him playing some crazygood improvised jazz (I know!) with an amazing little combo in a Latin restaurant in East Van about a year ago, and it was awfully cool to see him announce this on FB the other day (that’s also where I got this pic). Some of you that I know IRLsies reading this might also know these fellas from around the way, which is why I wanted to post it since I couldn’t see the show (PS: Can someone post the video?). I guess I hadn’t quite realized how much people are digging on Dan Bejar. I haz a proud. Please enjoy him. We certainly do.

Awww… not nearly as rabbit-in-headlightsy as my friend probably felt.
His big premiere is happening as we speak. I haz such a proud.

“I went down at 5am today for the single tix sale — people camped overnight! The line was a block long before 6am.”
Tickets went on sale today for my friend’s movie, premiering at TIFF next week, and this is what one of his FB friends had to say about it. Getting some really good press so far… I haz a proud! (Please click that last link if you missed it late last night, especially if you like Kat Dennings!)
Yay! Daydream Nation is getting sweet early TIFF* buzz in the local Toronto press! A cover story/interview with Kat Dennings and a Q&A with my friend the director/writer, both with audio clips.
[*If you’re planning on attending, the premiere is 6pm Friday September 10th at the Ryerson. 2nd screening is Saturday the 11th at 12pm at the AMC.]
